Online Chat with the Geeks
We will be using IRC for GeekSpeak Chat, which means you can Join us on IRC during the show.
I will also try and hang-out in that room as much as I can. This is kind of an experiment in staying more connected as a community. If you don’t know much about IRC, then take a peek at Wikipedia’s IRC page. You will need to install some software:
- Macintosh OS X: Colloquy is a free IRC Client (I use this)
- Windows: IceChat is a free IRC Client (I have not tried this)
- A list of Clients: Wikipedia’s comparison of IRC Clients
Lots of chat applications also speak the IRC protocol. You may need an account on irc://irc.freenode.net and to join the room #GeekSpeakKUSP, you can do this all through the client… With your new IRC client software connect to the server irc.freenode.net and then join the room #GeekSpeakKUSP.
